FHS welcomes Chainsaw Artist Dayton Poss for Special Sculpture Unveiling

What an exciting day it was at Fairview Jr./Sr. High School on Wednesday, June 11th! Our school community had the incredible opportunity to witness art come to life as Dayton Poss from Carving Wood Designs visited for a live chainsaw carving demonstration and the unveiling of a very special sculpture.
This unique project was entirely funded by our dedicated Grade 9 CTF Entrepreneur class. These enterprising students worked hard, selling snacks and drinks to raise the necessary funds for a lasting piece of art that will be enjoyed by everyone at the school for years to come. Their vision and effort made this incredible event possible!
Dayton began setting up around 9 a.m., and throughout the day, students and staff gathered at a safe distance to watch him transform a raw log into a magnificent carving. It was truly a fascinating experience to see an artist at work, demonstrating precision and creativity with such powerful tools.
The custom carving commissioned by the Grade 9 class will soon find its permanent home in the school courtyard, serving as a testament to the creativity of Dayton Poss and the impressive entrepreneurial spirit of our Grade 9 students.
We're so proud of our Grade 9 CTF Entrepreneur class for their hard work and for leaving such a beautiful and lasting legacy at Fairview Jr./Sr. High School.
